		FAQ: How long has the studio been in business? The studio has been around since 2004, initially recording in-house bands before transforming into a commercial space. Is the facility strictly a commercial recording space or do you also produce? As well as offering recording services, we are also music producers. Often producing together, we both enjoy collaborating with new artists and bands. Every artist is different, some like to work with a producer and others want to produce themselves so it really depends on the project. Can you guys help with recordings from other studios? We often import files from incomplete sessions recorded at other studios as this can be a great way to save time and money when trying to finish a project. Maybe you have prerecorded guide tracks to play to or a completed song you need to sing on, whatever the scenario we can definitely help.

Greenstone Studios is owned and operated by brothers, Matthew and Tim Moore from Auckland, New Zealand.
I heard that you specialize in drum recording. Yes we do. Matthew has been playing and collecting drums for over 17 years. With his experience and collection he can help drummers attain the sound they want and make drum selections suitable for the song. The studio has an array of drums to choose from and Matthew is also available to play on tracks for solo artists who don't have a drummer. We do a lot of drum tracking for artists who have home studios but nowhere to track drums. Exporting drum sessions to your format is no problem. Do I need a producer? The majority of our clients can certainly benefit from having a producer. The role of the producer varies between projects and most all artists at least need someone to get them finished on time and within budget. From creative direction, song selection, musicianship, the hiring of session players, to the tedious business of previewing and editing tracks, the producer can certainly share some of the workload. Feel free to come in and ask us about our production services. If you choose to produce yourself then we are here to help you in any way that we can. Can I bring my own producer / engineer / equipment? The short answer is absolutely. We welcome other producers and engineers. Our house engineer Tim Moore will be on hand to assist in order to answer any questions you may have during your session. Additional equipment is also welcome, just contact Tim prior to your session to make arrangements. Where is the studio located? We are in the foothills of Altadena, about 20min from Hollywood and just north of Pasadena.
